Beginning this Thursday, 100 lucky Taco Bells will begin serving the latest in breakfast hybrid technology, the waffle taco. According to the Associated Press, the waffle taco and a larger breakfast program will still be in testing when it rolls out at the select locations in Fresno, CA, Omaha, NE, and Chattanooga, TN. The waffle taco will clock in at 460 calories, 30 grams of fat, and includes a fried waffle shell (to keep its shape), scrambled eggs, sausage, and syrup on the side. According to Nation's Restaurant News, the recommended price for the taco waffle is $1.79. (By way of comparison, the Carl's Jr. Pop-Tart ice cream sandwich hybrid goes for $1.49.) The testing will help Taco Bell determine whether a breakfast program (and waffle taco) should happen nationwide.
