Saul Zelaznog, a serial dine-and-dasher whose photo went viral after being outed by a bar he stiffed, has been arrested. Officially the arrest was due to a "probation violation," although the AP reports details were hazy. In any case, he is currently being held in the Washoe County Detention Center. After microbrewery Brewers Cabinet posted Zelaznog's photo on their Facebook page, other Reno-area bars and restaurants stepped forward to say they too had been victims.
Brewers Cabinet posted a message to followers on Facebook, saying they are "excited to announce that Mr. Z has just been taken into custody":
Thanks so much for your help and overwhelming support in this unfortunate situation. We are excited to announce that Mr. Z has just been taken into custody by the Reno Parole & Probation Department. We hope that all of his outstanding debts are paid in time, but more importantly, that he makes wiser decisions in the future. From this point forward, law enforcement will be handling Mr. Z's case, and we will get back to brewing amazing beer!
There appears to be some talk about brewing a beer in Zelaznog's honor; the brewery suggests calling it "Dasher Dunkel."
