SF's Saison Hosting 'Guest Chef' Series in October

Joshua Skenes will welcome five out-of-town chefs in a star-studded "Guest Chef" week at his San Francisco spot Saison, with the east-coast invasion scheduled for October 8 through 12. According to a press release, Skenes' lineup of chefs — Laurent Gras (formerly of L20 and SF's Fifth Floor), Matthew Lightner (NYC's Atera), John Shields (formerly of Virginia's Townhouse), Gabriel Kreuther (NYC's The Modern), and Guenter Seeger — "are the chefs whom I've become friends with and admired through the years," and each night, one guest chef will collaborate with Skenes on a 12-course tasting menu featuring alternating courses.

Reservations are $500 (exclusive of wine and gratuity); which, as Eater SF notes, is more than double its usual $248 prix fixe price tag. There's also this: a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the San Francisco Food Bank.
