NEW YORK CITY— The 2013 incarnation of Le Grand Fooding is scheduled for September 27 and 28, with two time-travel-themed dinners at Frank Castronovo and Frank Falcinelli's Brooklyn spot Res. Eater NY reports that "Time Mach'Inn" will feature three courses, each inspired by one of the past three decades, with an appropriate cocktail pairing to match. Tickets are $100 and available here. VANCOUVER— Filmmaker Lewis Bennett is crowd-sourcing funds on Indiegogo to make a documentary about Vancouver "sandwich Nazi" Salam Kahil, whose deli serves some of Vancouver's poorest residents. Kahil, the subject of a short film released last year, is known for his vulgar stories about his days as a male escort (a sign at his deli reads, "This deli contains Coarse Language and Nudity!"); as one regular customer says, "He's quite a character." Bennett is seeking $23,000 to fund a feature-length film. [Indiegogo]

LAS VEGAS— Eater Vegas has a (rendered) look at the upcoming restaurant by Cake Boss star Buddy Valastro: Buddy V's, inside the Palazzo, will house 376 seats in the 10,646-square-foot space. [Eater Vegas]
