NEW YORK CITY— The 2013 incarnation of Le Grand Fooding is scheduled for September 27 and 28, with two time-travel-themed dinners at Frank Castronovo and Frank Falcinelli's Brooklyn spot Res. VANCOUVER— Filmmaker Lewis Bennett is crowd-sourcing funds on Indiegogo to make a documentary about Vancouver "sandwich Nazi" Salam Kahil, whose deli serves some of Vancouver's poorest residents. Kahil, the subject of a short film released last year, is known for his vulgar stories about his days as a male escort (a sign at his deli reads, "This deli contains Coarse Language and Nudity!"); as one regular customer says, "He's quite a character."
