Meatpaper Announces Next Issue Will Be Its Last

The next issue of Meatpaper, the San Francisco-based indie publication about all things meat, will be its last. It's not entirely clear why: founder/EIC Sasha Wizansky told Inside Scoop SF, "There were a number of concerns that led to our decision, but it was not for lack of content." A blog post on the Meatpaper website announcing the end of the publication also hints at a future: "We may reappear in another form at some point, but our plans are still coalescing."

Speaking of the future, the final issue will be on the Future of Meat and contains pieces by Michael Pollan, Hank Shaw, and many more. Meatpaper launched in 2006 and since then has produced 20 issues (include the upcoming Future of Meat issue). The last issue is available on pre-order now.
