Beleaguered ex-Food Network star Paula Deen has backed out of her planned appearance at the Metropolitan Cooking and Entertaining Show DC this November due to "a scheduling conflict." Metropolitan Cooking stuck by Deen even as sponsors dropped her, and will be hosting a newly announced event called "Afternoon with Paula Deen" in March 2014. [WaPo via Eater DC]
