Hillary Dixler Canavan is Eater's restaurant editor and the author of the publication's debut book, Eater: 100 Essential Restaurant Recipes From the Authority on Where to Eat and Why It Matters (Abrams, September 2023). Her work focuses on dining trends and the people changing the industry — and scouting the next hot restaurant you need to try on Eater's annual Best New Restaurant list.

Thomas Keller is adding shopkeeper to his resume: Tomorrow, the celebrated chef will debut a 450-square-foot store called Finesse, The Store in Yountville, CA, Inside Scoop SF reports. The shop — located near Keller's Bouchon and French Laundry — will sell "Keller-branded goods," signed cookbooks, apparel, seeds from the French Laundry garden, and kitchen tools like a $900 limited edition MAC knife set. The store shares a name with Keller's magazine, which will of course be on sale at the shop, too.

This isn't Keller's first foray into retail, however. He has been a shill for Avis, developed a gluten-free flour (which will be sold at Finesse), and created Per Se and French Laundry-themed holiday gift sets. Silver French Laundry clothespins, anyone?
