Law & Order: SVU is indeed still on the air, and an upcoming "ripped from the headlines" episode will mash up the stories of the Trayvon Martin murder and the Paula Deen scandal. Actress Cybill Shepherd will play the Paula Deen-inspired celebrty chef character. The show's Executive Producer tells Entertainment Weekly: "[Jeffrey] Tambor is a defense attorney representing a very high-profile celebrity woman chef who thought she was being pursued by a rapist and turned around it was a teenager. And she shot him."

BuzzFeed has photos of a shoot that shows a protest outside of a courthouse (inspired by the George Zimmerman trial). If anything, in the photos Shepherd looks more like Martha Stewart than Paula Deen. The upcoming season of Law and Order: SVU starts this Fall.
