french-restaurant.jpgIn an effort to stop waiters and other service workers from being rude to foreigners, the Paris tourism board has released a guide to being nice to people called "Do You Speak Touriste?" (It apparently says Americans are always on their phones and eat dinner at 6:00.) One restaurant owner tells the New York Times, "In France, you can't just fire somebody if they're not doing a good job. If you could, everyone would be friendly." [NYT]
