Watch this Ode to NYC Food, 'Empire Plates of Mine'

Need a quick history of the New York dining scene, from Patsy's to Smorgasburg? Brian Hoffman of EatThisNY gladly provides, in the form of this parody of Jay-Z's "Empire State of Mind" (new title: "Empire Plates of Mine"). In the video, Hoffman raps in front of many NYC culinary landmarks — Roberta's, Russ and Daughters, Katz's Deli — while laying down lyrics like, "Catch me in the Bronx eating Parm at a Yankee game / Yeah, they made Italian food more famous than the Frankies can." There's also a cameo by Do or Dine's Justin Warner (dubbed "J-War") and MVPleez, who supply Alicia Keys' part. Let's hear it for New York, indeed. Go, watch:
