Fox has signed on to develop a comedy based on Sam and Mariah Calagione, the husband-and-wife team behind Dogfish Head Craft Brewery in Delaware. Deadline Hollywood reports that the single-camera comedy will be created by married actor/writers Ken Marino (Party Down) and Erica Oyama. Marino is set to star and Sam Calagione is on board as a story and technical consultant.
Apparently, Marino is a long-time friend of Calagione. Calagione told the News Journal that Marino was inspired by his book Brewing Up a Business and began pitching the idea to networks without Calagione's knowing. If it ends up airing, the show will be about "a couple who are working on their American Dream, a couple who support each other, inspire each other, are madly in love, drive each other crazy, build a company from the ground up and blend their employees and children into one big happy family."
