Watch Dave Arnold Explain His Cereal-Puffing Cannon

Cocktail wizard and Museum of Food and Drink founder Dave Arnold has been pimping his exploding rice puffing cannon for some time, and now, he explains the science and excitement behind the device to the New Yorker. (Also part of the video: a jaunty look at the history of cereal puffing, from its origins to the emergence of cereal commercials to its current role as big-business.) Says Arnold of the exhibit, which resurrects the now-obsolete cannon device to provide an attention-grabbing element: "The idea is to present something in a way that people care about something they wouldn't otherwise have cared about. 'The history of cereal? I don't care.' BOOM!" Go, watch:
