The Critics

New York Post critic Steve Cuozzo files a rant about the "new counter culture." He calls the world of "Extreme Eating" "more insufferably elitist, exclusionary and disproportionately expensive than the snooty 'fine dining' of old." He also writes about a new "restaurant superclass" who are "rich and have as much time on their hands as trust-fund layabouts and their doomed mistresses." On the chef counters: "Their insidious creep is a plague to be deplored and, if possible, outlawed." [NYP]
