COPENHAGEN— With the event just three weeks away, René Redzepi's third-annual MAD Symposium is still adding new speakers: Boston chef Barbara Lynch has joined the lineup, which already includes Alain Ducasse, Roi Choi, Alex Atala, Frédéric Morin, and David McMillan, among others. [EaterWire]
NEW YORK CITY— NYC will toast chefs of the Nordic persuasion at the NORTH food festival, a six-day event celebrating Nordic cuisine. From October 2–7, both local and international chefs — including Marcus Jernmark (of NYC's Aquavit), Matt Orlando (Copenhagen's Amass), and Fredrik Berselius (Brooklyn's Aska) — will offer cooking classes, demonstrations, and collaborative dinners around town. Tickets go on sale August 8; more information here. [EaterWire]
PHILADELPHIA— Iconic Philadelphia restaurant Le Bec-Fin officially closed in June, but its familiar sign will live on — on the walls of an equally historic Philadelphia tavern, McGillin's Old Ale House. According to Philly.com, "the Le Bec-Fin letters will join McGillin's wall of fame, near the staircase on the lefthand side of the dining room." [Philly.com]
