Taking the place of RM Seafood at Mandalay Bay is Rick Moonen's new steampunk-inspired bar/lounge/restaurant, Rx Boiler Room. Red appears to be the main color here: There's plenty of red lighting, red leather seating, red tables, and even a red lace-and-corset dress code. Otherwise, Eater Las Vegas describes the decor as a "funky mix of old and new elements," with a wall of laboratory glassware, velvet drapes, and an "apothecary-style lounge."
The menu offers Moonen's version of reimagined comfort food, or as he explains to USA Today, "It's not going be the kind of comfort food that makes you feel like you got hit in the stomach with a sledgehammer." There will be dishes like an "inside-out French onion soup", chicken pot pie nuggets, and a shellfish shepherd's pie. And for those wondering, "Rx" is actually pronounced "Rick's."
