When the family of the late Aaron Collins honored his dying wish to leave a server a $500 tip last summer, the video went viral. Now, according to an interview brother Seth Collins did with NPR this weekend, the family has raised over $60,000, and is using the money to give $500 tips to hardworking servers in all 50 states. When that goal is accomplished, Seth plans to "keep giving whatever money we have."
The idea for the mission came from Aaron's will which stated, "leave an awesome tip (and I don't mean 25%. I mean $500 on a f***ing pizza) for a waiter or waitress." The family has been fulfilling that request many times over, setting up a website where they post videos of giving these generous tips to servers. On July 3rd, they gave their 54th tip to a waitress at Thr3e Wise Men in Indianapolis, IN. That very sweet video is below, have a look:
