Scenes From the London Shake Shack Opening

Today London's first-ever Shake Shack opened at 10AM to the hungry masses in Covent Garden, and Eater was on the scene to capture what is a significant moment in British history. Reported photographer Marco Carboni: "The scene was friendly and energetic and there was a great general response." According the Shake Shack, the line (or "queue") for Shackburgers was "about an hour." And this was a very important opening, with all the company's big names in attendance: USHG's Danny Meyer (Shake Shack founder), Randy Garutti (CEO), David Swinghamer (CDO), and Mark Rosati (the Culinary Director).
