Philadelphia's Iron Chef Jose Garces will be opening an Argentinian steakhouse in Washington, DC at the Loews Madison Hotel. A press release from Loews Hotels & Resorts today announces that the restaurant will open "in early 2014." The steakhouse will be Garces' first restaurant in DC. Aside from Philadelphia, the Beard Award-winning chef's Garces Group has restaurants in Atlantic City, Palm Springs, Scottsdale, and Chicago.

Eater DC reports that Garces' as-yet unnamed steakhouse will replace The Federalist. A spokeswoman for the hotel confirmed with Eater DC, noting "that restaurant's last day of business is Sunday." At this point, there are no further details available about the menu or name of the upcoming restaurant. Stay tuned.
