A chef has been denied a work visa in New Zealand after authorities deemed him too fat. According to the Press, Albert Buitenhuis currently weighs 130 kilos (287 pounds), which is down from the 160 kilos (353 pounds) he weighed when he first moved from South Africa six years ago. Still, authorities say Buitenhuis does not meet "an acceptable standard of health." His wife, a waitress, just says "he has committed no crime except 'being a foodie.'" The couple has not been allowed to work since May 1. Below, a local news report is "really puzzled" by the whole situation.
