Yesterday chef Marc Vetri (Vetri, Philadelphia) posted a photo of a letter he got from Mario Batali back in 2000. It read, in part: "Great fucking dinner last week!! The restaurant is beautiful the food is perfect, your staff an exercise in gentility and style... It is a treat to count you among my compadres in our field." Batali signed off with "Spaghetti is love." [Twitter]
