Tales of the Cocktail 2013 Media Frenzy

A who's-who of the cocktail world descended on New Orleans this weekend for the annual Tales of the Cocktail event, several days of sazeracs, panel discussions, tastings, parties, and more sazeracs. At the annual Spirited Awards, Charles Joly of the Aviary in Chicago took American Bartender of the Year, Best American Cocktail Bar went to Clover Club in Brooklyn, and a lifetime achievement award went to London's Salvatore Calabrese (for a full list of winners, head over to the Times-Pic).

The weekend held more than just awards, though: there was a Big Lebowski bar (with White Russians, obviously), an engagement, the world's largest Cafe Pousse, mountains of coconut-shaped glasses, and more.
