The state's ban on shark fins — signed into law in October 2011 — officially took full effect, prohibiting the sale of cooked or dried shark fins, considered a delicacy in Chinese cuisine. But a legal battle's brewing: According to CBS, San Francisco's Chinatown Neighborhood Association has filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court, arguing the ban discriminates against Chinese Americans.
