SAN FRANCISCO— To atone for an all-male list of "Rising Star" chefs published in March, Inside Scoop SF will throw a one-off dinner July 28 featuring contributions and collaborations between the city's best female chefs. Nancy Oakes, Pamela Mazzola, and Dana Youlkin of Prospect will play host, with the likes of April Bloomfield, Dominique Crenn, Loretta Keller, and Nicole Krasinski providing courses. Reservations are $450 per person, and proceeds from the event will benefit the Chronicle's Season of Sharing Fund. More information and tickets here. [ISSF via Eater SF]
CHICAGO— Chicago's been fielding rumors about a possible Brooklyn Bowl expansion for years, but new intel from Crain's Business suggests a local outpost of NYC entertainment complex may be closer to reality. The potential Chicago Bowl is slated for the Fulton Market/Randolph area, where another NYC transplant — Nobu — is also rumored to be setting up shop. [Crain's via Eater Chicago]
LAS VEGAS— Fort Lauderdale chef Steve Martorano — who owns two locations of his Cafe Martorano chainlet in Florida and one in Las Vegas — went to Jimmy Kimmel Live! to announce a second Vegas restaurant, Martorano's, scheduled to open in Paris Las Vegas next spring. According to Eater Vegas, the spot will feature 200 seats and feature a familiar menu of "Martorano's South Philly cheesesteak, eggplant stack, rigatoni Sunday pork gravy, bucatini carbonara and his meatballs."
