Here Are the 34,392 McDonald's in the World, Mapped

After McDonald's opens up its first-ever outpost in Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City, the fast food behemoth will officially have 34,392 restaurants in 116 countries around the world. In light of this news, the Guardian did a bunch of math and came up with some interesting data. There's an interactive map illustrating the number of restaurants per country, a graph showing the amount of citizens per operating McDonald's, and another showing the correlation between the number of outlets in a given country versus the percentage of people in it who are overweight or obese. Turns out that the US has one McDonald's for every 22,174 Americans. Go, look:
