Inside Umami Burger's Remake of Papoo's in LA

Photo: Elizabeth Daniels / Eater LA

Here's a look inside hamburger chain Umami Burger's new Burbank, California location, which had its soft opening earlier this week. As Eater LA previously mentions, the interior pays homage to the iconic 50s burger and hot dog restaurant Papoo's Hot Dog Show formerly inhabiting the space. Otherwise, Umami continues the tufted seating trend with lots of gold-tufted black leather banquettes and bar chairs, as well as lots of black-and-white dog photos hanging on the walls and fancy-looking chandeliers. There's also a sizable patio seating area.

The Papoo's inspiration continues onto the menu, where Umami is offering seven types of hot dogs in addition to its usual selection. Also upcoming is a brunch menu, which it will introduce for the first time in August.
