One of the winners of Food Network's recently launched show Giving You the Business, Kris Herrera, sued the television network earlier this week for not giving him the 16 Handles franchise store he says was promised as the show's grand prize, reports the AP. What he got instead, according to Radar Online, was "a single share of restricted ownership," not a 16 Handles franchise store "as promised during the filming of the episode." Understandably, he is not happy, and has this to say about the situation: "I feel like it's a total fraud. They lied to me and they are lying to the American public. Every week dozens of people come into the store and congratulate me on winning my own franchise store. They don't know all I got was the shaft."
Herrera is still working at 16 Handles, but he has since hired himself a lawyer and is fighting to "expose the fraud of the show." According to Food Network Gossip, neither Food Network and nor 16 Handles' parent company, Yogurt City Inc., have provided comment. Here's a preview of the show's 16 Handles episode:
