Former Top Chef Masters cheftestapant Naomi Pomeroy has swung the doors open at ">her casual bar Expatriate, located right across the street from her famed Portland restaurant Beast. The 30-seat cocktail bar — which features Pomeroy's casual menu of French and Asian drinking food — is a collaboration between the chef and bar manager Kyle Webster (formerly of Portland's St. Jack restaurant). As previously reported, the duo plan to focus on a playful atmosphere (inspired by part as the building's former status as a brothel): The color scheme's inspired by retro men's suits, booths are arranged in moveable modules to make room for dance parties, and Webster promises guest-DJ appearances at the bar's vinyl setup.
