Top Chef is teaming up with Telemundo to create Top Chef: Estrellas (Top Chef Stars), a celebrity-packed, Spanish-language version of the reality TV series. Unlike the US incarnations, there are no actual chefs in the show. Instead, eight "major Hispanic celebrities [cook] their favorite dishes under the guidance and coaching of professional chefs," according to the press release. The show has three judges: the one and only master chef taco shill Lorena Garcia, and James Beard award-nominated TV hosts Jaime Martin Del Campo and Ramiro Arvizu. It will be hosted by telenovela star Aylin Mujica, and is set to air "next season." So, Fall?

All eight competing celebrities are television veterans/models/actors: writer/TV personality Nancy Álvarez, TV host Fernando Arau, singer/actor Christian Chávez, actor/TV host David Chocarro, actor Christian de la Campa, actress Erika De La Rosa, actress/singer Lorena Herrera, actress/TV host Cynthia Olavarría. The competitors are not only competing for something called the "Top Chef crown," they're also gunning for $100,000 for charity. Below, the press release.
