Ruth Bourdain Outed as Writer Josh Friedland

Josh Friedland is Twitter thing Ruth Bourdain, reports the New York Times. The food writer — sorry, that's James Beard Award winning food writer, thanks to RuBo's 2011 win for humor — runs website the Food Section, which doesn't appear to have been updated since December, and does other freelance work. According to the Times, Friedland escaped outing up til now by going to such lengths as "changing his cellphone number, using voice-cloaking software to do radio interviews in character, and compelling editors and some reporters to sign nondisclosure agreements." Eater co-founder Ben Leventhal totally called it in October 2011, although he did think it was a group effort at the time.
