An alcohol-free, vegetarian bar concept is opening soon in London called Redemption. According to the website, Redemption will serve "a range of classy mocktails, fruit infusions, teas and coffees" and are "not going to harm or kill animals to create our food." Marketing magazine reports the "gastrobar" will launch on July 21st with a residency at London's Netil House, with a permanent location opening in September at Trellick Tower in West London.
Redemption founder Catherine Salway — formerly Virgin's group brand director — told Marketing: "The idea so far has been welcomed with open arms ... Londoners see it as meeting a real need, hitting the zeitgeist and 'the next big thing' in the leisure market." Similar to other recent alcohol-free bar concepts, Salway is marketing the bar as a "space away from temptation." (Her former employer, on the other hand, is providing temptation to customers with creepy seat-to-seat drink delivery services on flights.)
