It's become "fairly common" for new restaurateurs, like former cheftestapants Mike Isabella and Spike Mendelsohn, to open multiple places ("half a dozen or more") within months of each other. And all that expansion is certainly not easy. Says Isabella, "It's fun to do, ... [but] it definitely gives you a lot of gray hairs. ... It definitely takes 10 years off your life." [WCP]
