Here's another restaurant that caused much fuss by serving lion. The Tampa Tribune reports that South Tampa restaurant Taco Fusion was serving $35 lion tacos, despite local outrage. Reps from the restaurant told the Tribune: "If you guys are mad now, just wait till you see what we do next." Taco Fusion also defensively tweeted: "HEY This is America, Baby!"

However, backlash ensued, and according to the Taco Fusion website, the lion "promotion" is over. "We listened to everyone and decided to no longer carry Lion," the site says. Rattlesnake, shark, and gazelle tacos remain listed on the "Safari Tacos" menu posted online, and Taco Fusion is planning to serve iguana, bear, and zebra tacos in the future.

This isn't the first lion taco debacle. In 2011, an Arizona restaurateur pulled lion tacos from his menu after receiving threats online. Indeed, the trend seems to be to add lion to the menu to cause a shock and then pull it after public outcries, as also happened last summer in Wichita, KS.
