Good news for everyone who enjoys some good cannabalistic food styling every now and then: NBC has renewed Hannibal for a second season in the life of fictional cannibal psychiatrist Dr. Hannibal Lecter. According to Zap2it, the network has ordered 13 episodes that should launch "no earlier than midseason." Chef José Andrés will presumably resume his role as culinary adviser to the show, as he spent much of yesterday evening tweeting about the show's renewal, the latest episode, and the inclusion of Jamon Iberico de Bellota.

Meanwhile, Eatocracy talks with food stylist Janice Poon about the various creepy dishes she has to make, teaching actors knife skills and the important role dining plays on the TV show. As she explains, "When they sit down to dinner it's a respite from the killing, the maiming and mutating. ... Dinnertime is like a truce, even though he's feeding you people." Great, more of that, please.
