The chefs are shuffling in Grant Achatzville: longtime Alinea chef de cuisine Matthew Chasseur has left the restaurant, and sous chef Mike Bagale will be promoted to take his place. Alinea/Next/The Aviary partner Nick Kokonas tells Eater Chicago that Chasseur "left for personal reasons, not professional ones." After helming the Alinea ship for the last six years, Chasseur explains that he has "chosen to take the next step in [his] life ... settling down on the east coast and starting a family."
