Watch a Trailer for a Cookbook You Have to Slice to Read

Hillary Dixler Canavan is Eater's restaurant editor and the author of the publication's debut book, Eater: 100 Essential Restaurant Recipes From the Authority on Where to Eat and Why It Matters (Abrams, September 2023). Her work focuses on dining trends and the people changing the industry — and scouting the next hot restaurant you need to try on Eater's annual Best New Restaurant list.

Here's a trailer for the Slice a Recipe cookbook, which asks readers to use a knife to literally slice into it. The cookbook was designed by Ogilvy & Mather Bogota for use in Bogota's Escuela de Cocina Carulla cooking school to help students practice knife skills. The book is marked with thin lines along which readers must cut precisely to view each recipe. Behance has photos and drawings from the book's creative director, and below is the video. Have a look:
