Much beloved film critic Roger Ebert died today at the age of 70. While his primary professional interest was movies, he was also a passionate home cook. In 2010, he published a book of rice cooker recipes called The Pot and How to Use It (grab one while they're still left on Amazon). Also, being a self-described "downstate Illinois boy," he was a big fan of Steak 'n Shake. [NYT, Sun Times]
