Jon Stewart: Top Chef Has 'Worse Penalties For Fucking Up' Than Congress

Last night on The Daily Show, Jon Stewart took on the spending cuts triggered by the sequester, blaming what he calls "Congressional incompetence." But, he notes, Congressional paychecks are exempt from the spending cuts and will remain at $174,000 a year. "There are worse penalties for fucking up on Top Chef than there are in Congress," he says. "At least there you gotta pack your knives and go."

Although, of course, Stewart points out that maybe those Top Chef penalties aren't quite what they once were now that there's Last Chance Kitchen and the possibility of returning in an All-Stars season. And, he says, "Sometimes they're just going to parachute old contestants onto the show for no good reason. I mean Josie? You brought fucking Josie back?"
