Portland Press Herald critic John Golden files just a devastating review of Eve's at the Garden, calling it dead on arrival. He skewers the dining room, writing, "It'sa shattering aftermath, a showcase for Ethan Allan faux fancy." He also notes "an incongruous glop of beet puree" and a "gravely unsuccessful" venison carpaccio. And then there was the the duck that was "so tough I thought of asking our waiter for a machete." Yikes. [Portland Press Herald via Eater Maine]
