Shake Shack continues its march toward world burger domination with word today that the hamburger chain is opening a location in Istanbul, Turkey. Above, a photo of the location under construction by CEO Randy Garutti. According to sources inside the Shake Shack organization, it'll be located in the Tunel neighborhood and the target opening date is Spring 2013.
Shake Shack Istanbul will be locally run by the operator Shaya, which is owned by M.H. Alshaya, the international franchise operator that runs Shake Shack's many locations across the Middle East. Shake Shack is on a bit of an expansion tear, having recently announced plans to open in London and additional locations in Washington, DC, Miami, and Philadelphia. Rumors of a Las Vegas location continue.
