The Michelin Guide has announced that 632 restaurants in France have earned the Bib Gourmand award, which is given to "pleasurable" restaurants that offer three courses for under 31 euros (See the full list.) 98 of these restaurants are new, including chef Yannick Alléno's Terroir Parisien in Paris. According to a Michelin statement, "Many chefs who have worked in the very best restaurants have now decided to open their own establishments where they serve simple, convivial, authentic cuisine at affordable prices." Some of the places, apparently, do not even serve French food.
France is the last country on Michelin's annual rotation of guide releases; France's stars for 2013 will be announced on March 1.
