Here's a new job possibility for out-of-work food critics: Former Tacoma News Tribune critic Ed Murrieta — who earned some fleeting fame a few years back when he confessed to living on food stamps — has signed on as a "restaurant critic" for the Sacramento Convention & Visitors Bureau. That means no negative reviews ("Why compete with Yelp?") and he'll be taking lots of photos so "your lamb shank had better look like my lamb shank or a restaurant's got a problem." [Romenesko]
