Here is a list of 12 restaurants from GQ's Alan Richman, which the article refers to alternately as the "best of 2013," "most outstanding of 2013," "places to go for a perfect night out," or the "restaurants you must eat at this year." So it's kind of like a restaurant to-do list for the year? Anyway, the restaurants include Los Angeles flatbread sandwichery Bäco Mercat, Brooklyn's grill happy St. Anselm, and the Houston's vegetable-obsessed tough door Oxheart. Of his picks, Richman says restaurants have learned to be more American, if not in cuisine then in attitude: "We yearn for restaurants that are like us: casual, kindhearted, original, and a little too loud."
