Fabio Viviani's Siena Tavern Is Hitting Chicago Tomorrow

Tomorrow, former Top Chef cheftestapant Fabio Viviani will throw open the doors to his new Chicago restaurant Siena Tavern. Eater Chicago takes a detailed look inside the "rustic-Italian-meets-urban-Chicago balancing act" that will blend a 200-seat dining room with a couple of bars, a wraparound patio and a lounge area complete with a DJ. The restaurant's design was inspired by an actual tavern that the restaurateurs visited during a research trip to Siena, Italy, but with an urban Americanized twist.

Siena Tavern will be making pasta and dough in-house and the menu includes dishes such as Fabio's Mom's lasagna. One of the two bars is a communal crudo, pizza, and mozzarella, and cocktail bar. And Top Chef fans should note that Viviani himself will be at the restaurant two weeks a month.
