Brazil's Alex Atala runs one of the world's top-ranking restaurants and is a respected voice on conservation issues, but it all began with punk rock and an Amazonian kidnapping. The Wall Street Journal profiles the D.O.M chef from the days of his foot-high Mohawk and drug usage to the time he and a friend were taken hostage on Brazil's upper Araguaia River.
