Last night Coi chef Daniel Patterson opened his fifth restaurant Alta CA in San Francisco. Eater SF takes a look inside, and finds the 65-seat restaurant has "wood tables, elegant lighting fixtures, and vintage Danish school chairs" which contribute to a stylish yet casual atmosphere. Alta CA was designed by Scott Kester, who was tasked with transforming the space from a Chinese restaurant. The open kitchen, helmed by chef Yoni Levy, serves a menu with "a slight Eastern European bent" and pastry chef Matt Tinder is overseeing a soft-serve ice cream program. Among the most upscale restaurants in its Mid-Market location, Alta CA is also hoping to attract local tech industry workers with pre-set to-go lunches.
