Apparently New Orleans has 70% more restaurants than it did before Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005, and over 10% of jobs in the New Orleans area are now in the restaurant industry. It seems both locals and tourists are responsible for the boom, with the city's restaurant count at nearly 1,400. [NYT]
