As previously hinted, chef Corey Lee is opening a second restaurant in San Francisco. Inside Scoop SF reports that the chef of the two Michelin-starred Benu will be opening a more casual restaurant to be called Monsieur Benjamin in the Hayes Valley neighborhood.
Monsieur Benjamin will have a "modern bistro" vibe with late night hours and a neighborhood feel. Jason Berthold (RN74, French Laundry) will be at the helm in the kitchen, serving an updated menu of bistro classics using "seasonal ingredients and modern techniques." While it's too soon for Lee to throw out an exact opening date, expect Monsieur Benjamin to open its doors sometime next Spring.
