Acclaimed French chef Pierre Gagnaire — whose restaurant empire includes his eponymous three Michelin star restaurant in Paris and a two Michelin star restaurant in Hong Kong — is opening a pastry shop in Dubai, his first in the world. According to Hotelier Middle East, Choix Patisserie & Restaurant Par Pierre Gagnaire will open sometime in the first quarter of 2014.

Choix Pattiserie will be located in the lobby of the InterContinental Dubai Festival City, where Gagnaire already has a restaurant, Reflets Par Pierre Gagnaire. The kitchen, led by Reflets chef Olivier Biles, will serve a menu of pastries, cakes, macaroons , and the like, plus an afternoon tea service with proper things like finger sandwiches and sultana scones. A job advertisement for the patisserie says it will be open "soon."
