Her work focuses on dining trends and the people changing the industry — and scouting the next hot restaurant you need to try on Eater's annual Best New Restaurant list.

Not only does Philly blog publisher Sarah Lockard want a restaurant to give her a free Christmas Eve dinner for five, she also wants to charge $75 to anyone who contacts her through her website, even if only for 10 minutes. Media writer Jim Romenesko was sent a deleted Facebook post from last week in which Lockard writes: "Every text, email and biz correspondence with is billable." [Romenesko]
