Empire builder José Andrés plans to expand his five-year-old Los Angeles hotspot The Bazaar, telling the LA Times that he hopes to soon extend the restaurant, inside the SLS Hotel, into the hotel lobby. With the change — which "will happen" on a vague timeline — Andrés will morph Saam, the Bazaar's 30-seat private dining room, into a concept similar to Washington, DC's exclusive, 12-seat minibar.
In the same article, Andrés also drops hints about an upcoming Las Vegas project titled Bazaar Meat, which will feature "cuts of lamb and pigs cooked on big grills and a couple of types of wood-burning ovens." He also reveals dreams for a Japanese-Spanish mash-up in the near future. What's unclear, however, is the timeline for all the projects involved: Last month, Andres announced plans to open a Chinese-Peruvian restaurant in DC.
